"Step one for your design
Take yourself outside
At least a few times
At different times of day
Look, smell, listen, taste
Do whatever it takes
To read your landscapes
Which way's the hot and cold winds blow?
Where's it cool or frost or snow?
From where does the fire come?
How far's the reach of the season's, what are the angles of the season's sun?
Find out what you can
The soil is it sand or hard clay pan?
The more you look the more you'll know
What ye reap is what ye sow
(Chorus)
The field lies open to the intellect
Harmonize your design respect!

It All Starts Somewhere
I am starting this site with the aim of communicating useful permaculture based information through music. We all get songs stuck in our head. But wouldn't it be nice if those catchy little tunes contained more useful information than what is mostly on offer. In I step, with the aim of making addictive little memory tools useful for design, landscape reading, compost making and many other aspects to good permaculture practice.
The post is called It All Starts Somewhere, because I'm so keen to get this started that all I have to put up are some unfinished lyrics for a song in progress.....
I do in fact have a back catalogue and I am signed to Mushroom music (Australia) but none of the songs are exactly what I want to do within the Permaculture Nation so to speak, so here is the start of something I think I'm going to enjoy quite a bit.....
